Australian star Steve Smith has reclaimed the throne as the world's best Test batsman after an incredible performance in the second Ashes Test at Lord's.

Smith was the world's No.1 ranked Test batsman prior to the Ashes series commences, however, he lost the mantle to AB de Villiers after scoring 33 in both the first and second innings in the first Test at Cardiff.

Smith's outstanding second Test performance, which yielded scored of 215 and 58, propelled the 26-year-old back to the No.1 spot.

His ranking points tally of 936 is a career high and the 10th highest rating of all time in the International Cricket Council player rankings system.

Chris Rogers also moved up in the rankings, moving into the top 10 for the first time thanks to his 173 and 49 retired hurt.
