The Melbourne Stars have parted ways with keeper/batsman Ben Dunk, with both parties mutually agreeing to a release of the 33-year-old's contract.
Dunk is set to return to Hobart after a poor season with the Stars, averaging 13.80 with the bat from his five innings in BBL10.
The Tasmanian wicket-keeper had one-and-a-half years remaining on his five-year contract with Melbourne, with the deal now cut short.
"This was a difficult decision that will allow me to explore other playing opportunities and ultimately was in the best interests for me, my family and the club," Dunk said, per the club website.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time playing with the Melbourne Stars and wish them all the best for the remainder of this season and into the future."
