Australia has suffered a potential blow ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy in the UK in June, with all-rounder Marcus Stoinis suffering a shoulder injury in the Indian Premier League over the weekend.

Stoinis sustained the injury while partaking in a fielding drill prior to the Kings XI Punjab's clash with the Royal Challengers in Bangalore.

He has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL and has returned home to Melbourne for scans, which will determine whether or not he will be available for the Champions Trophy.

Australia's first game of the tournament is on June 2 against New Zealand, but the side has warm up games against Sri Lanka and Pakistan on May 26 and 29.

Australia's full Champions Trophy squad: Steve Smith (c), David Warner (vc), Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, John Hastings, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinson, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, Adam Zampa.
