England veteran Alastair Cook has finally found some form at just the right time, while fellow opener Mark Stoneman has hit an impressive century in the side's tour match in Townsville.
Cook, who has struggled for runs so far since arriving in Australia hit 70 runs, as he shared in a 172-run partnership with Stoneman.
Prior to today, Cook had only managed 47 runs at an average of 15.66 in the side's first two tour matches.
Meanwhile, Stoneman has reached 109 not out, as England reached 2/215 at tea on day two.
The opener is the first player to score a century for England on this tour so far.
Earlier, Chris Woakes finished with figures of 6-55 as the English dismissed CA XI for 250. The fast bowler's impressive figures come after taking 4-17 in Adelaide last week.
Staurt Broad (2-33) and Craig Overton (2-32) claimed the remaining wickets.
The game is England's last hit out before the first Test at the Gabba on November 23.
