The Adelaide Strikers have secured the services of England fast bowler Chris Jordan as a replacement international players for BBL06.

Jordan will replace fellow countryman Adil Rashid, as the leg-spinner has been selected to complete England's five-Test series in India throughout December.

The 28-year-old will be available for the first two Strikers games of the season, although further selection will depend on if Rashid is chosen for the ODI leg of England's Indian tour.

Adelaide coach Jason Gillespie was excited to have signed Jordan, and said his game style is perfectly suited to the T20 format.

"Chris is an allrounder who has represented England with distinction and we are delighted to have secured his services," Gillespie said.

"He bowls very good pace, is renowned for taking early wickets and he is also known for his death bowling; and he's also one of the best fielders in the world.

"He's a quality cricketer who has all three strings to his bow, and we're extremely excited to be welcoming him here to the Adelaide Strikers."

The signing completes Adelaide's squad for BBL06, with their first game to be played against the Brisbane Heat on December 21.
