Former Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark has called for the scrapping of T20 Internationals, labelling the upcoming series against Sri Lanka 'the who cares cup'.

Australia have named an under-strength squad for the three match series, with the majority of big names in India for the upcoming Test series.

The scheduling clash means Aaron Finch will captain the side in Steve Smith's absence. With coach Darren Lehmann also in India, Justin Langer will take over the reigns. Ricky Ponting and Jason Gillespie will assist him in the role.

Clark told Fox Sports News 500 it is a pointless series.

“You ever heard of the ‘Who Cares Cup?’ This is the ‘Who Cares Cup’,” he said.

“We’re not even playing our best team. They’re all in India, having a game of Test cricket.”

Clark believes T20 should only be played at domestic level and the T20 World Cup.

“I’d get rid of them for good; there’d be no more T20 internationals other than a World Cup every four years.

“No one cares (about T20Is) because everyone always rests their players. We do it every year.”
