Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis are all out of Australia's next round of World Cup preparation against India later this month.

The trio have all withdrawn with injury concerns and will be replaced by Nathan Ellis, Daniel Sams and Sean Abbott.

The three-match series will begin on their turf on September 21, with games two and three on the 24th and 26th, respectively.

With these departures, Australia loses 133 matches of T20 international experience and all three players also played vital roles in our world cup triumph last year.

It makes for an earlier hiccup in our plans for a title defence, but with the World Cup being played on our home soil this time, playing in India won't be massive in terms of preparation.

All three players are expected to be available when the side returns home to play against the West Indies and England before our World Cup campaign begins against New Zealand on October 22.
