Callum Ferguson's worst fears have come true, with the South Australian batsman ruled out for the rest of the summer, with scans confirming he has ruptured his ACL in his left knee.

The South Australian has been in tremendous form and was in contention for next year's World T20 squad.

It is a bitter pill to swallow for Ferguson, who underwent a knee reconstruction in 2009.

It also leaves a big hole in the Renegades' middle order for the upcoming Big Bash.
