Victorian and recent Australian ODI debutant, Marcus Stoinis, has joined Western Australia.
The Warriors have confirmed the news that Stoinis, 27, will return home to WA for the 2017/18 season, while will feature several exciting young faces in the upcoming season.
"We’re thrilled to have Marcus (Stoinis) coming home to West Australia, not only because he’s an extremely talented player but he’s a great character as well," WA coach Justin Langer said.
"Young Matt Spoors is an exciting young talent. I love his dancing feet; a lot of kids these days have really slow footwork, but Matt’s got really fast batting feet.
"Twelve players have been Australian representatives and that’s a great tribute to the program we’re running here at the WACA.
"On paper, this side looks amazing, but it’s how we gel on the field that counts."
Stoinis made his ODI debut for Australia against New Zealand last year, scoring an eye catching 146 not out in the Chappell-Hadlee series.
He has played 43 First-class matches, scoring 2,386 runs at an average of 35.08 and taking 33 wickets at an average of 48.
He has 1,028 List A runs at an average of 30.23 and 27 wickets at 33.40.
Stoinis played three Sheffield Shield games for WA in 2011 before moving to Victoria in search of further opportunity.
