Australian veteran David Warner has avoided any punishment for shoving international teammate Matthew Wade during Sunday's loss to the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League.
In what was Warner's second appearance for BBL franchise the Sydney Thunder since returning to the club, the 36-year-old was involved in a heated altercation that included Wade and Thunder captain Chris Green.
Midway through the Hurricanes' innings, Wade and Green were caught in a verbal stoush before Hobart batsman Tim David looked to extinguish the situation.
With temper flaring as the drinks break was called, Warner stepped in and shoved Wade, gaining scrutiny from commentator Kerry O'Keefe.
"That was inappropriate. I don't know what went on between them there," O'Keefe said on the Fox Cricketbroadcast.
"Was it jocular? We'll find out later."
After facing a nervous wait, Warner has avoided any sanction for the incident, with the AAP reporting that Cricket Australia won't hand down any punishment after the field umpires from the match opted against lodging a report following the game's result.
Warner will be free to face the Melbourne Renegades on Thursday night for what will be the Thunder's next match in the BBL.
The opener has struggled to find his best form in the domestic competition for the opening two matches of his five-game stint, recording no runs from two balls against the Hurricanes after scoring just 19 in his nine-year BBL return against the Scorchers last week.
The Thunder will be relying on Warner's big-hitting abilities to help steer them to a finals berth, with the Sydney side currently placed sixth on the ladder with five wins and six losses for the season.
Thursday's match will see the Thunder host the Renegades at Manuka Oval, Canberra at 7:15 (AEDT).
