After two sessions of play on day four, during which David Warner was at the fore front of a highly-spirited Australian celebration following the run-out of AB de Villiers, CCTV footage has captured Australian vice-captain David Warner and South African Quinton de Kock involved in a heated exchange at tea on day four of the first Test in Durban.

In the players tunnel after tea had been called, the exchange featured Warner aggressively directing words at de Kock. After being restrained by Usman Khawaja and wicketkeeper Tim Paine, captain Steve Smith ushered all players away from the situation.

It is unknown how the vision was leaked nor what prompted the exchange.

A Cricket Australia spokesperson stated: "CA is aware of reports of an incident between players in Durban. CA is working to establish the facts of what has occurred and will not be commenting further until that has been done."

Tim Paine shared his thoughts on the sledging after play day four, where he believes that the Australian's on field sledging has been designed to put people off their game, which ultimately was a tactic that led to many key wickets on day four.

"There wasn't too much aggression," Paine said.

"We spoke to Aiden about running out their best player and one of the best players in the world.

"Had someone had run 'Smithy' (Steve Smith) out in our team you'd cop a fair bit of a ribbing.

"It was nothing aggressive; it was just reminding him of what he had just done, trying to get him off his game, the same as they do to us."

Australia require one wicket on day five to wrap up the first test, while South Africa chase 124 runs for victory.
