Western Australia have confirmed that Mitchell Marsh will captain the state in both first class and one day cricket this summer, with Ashton Turner to stand in for him during the season-opener against Victoria on Sunday.

Victoria will be fresh off a victory in their first game on Friday over New South Wales, with the Warriors now looking to stop the Victorians form making it a two-from-two start to the season.

Turner will lead a strong squad into the first game of the summer, with all of Cameron Bancroft, Jason Behrendordd, Hilton Cartwright, Josh Philippe, Jhye Richardson, D'Arcy Short and Andrew Tye possessing international experience of one sort or another.

The likes of Philippe and Short will be immediately pushing for selection in white ball teams to come this summer, while Jhye Richardson will be out to impress as he looks to gain a foothold in the Australian squad across all three formats of the game.

The experienced group of players for the game will be joined in the 13-man squad that has been sent to Victoria by Aaron Hardie, Lance Morris, Sam Whiteman and excellent BBL bowlers Joel Paris and Matt Kelly.

The game will be played on Sunday at the Citi Power Centre (also known at the Junction Oval) in St Kilda, with the first ball to be bowled at 10:05am (AEST). It will be broadcast on both Foxtel and Kayo Sports.
