A further six Australian Ashes stars are set to return to their respective Big Bash franchises for the conclusion of the domestic T20 competition.

With the finals picture taking further shape and just four matches left ahead of Friday's Eliminator, the timing has been a welcoming one for those looking to further strengthen their championship credentials.

Mostly unused throughout the Ashes series, Perth pair Mitch Marsh and Josh Inglis, as well as Brisbane duo Michael Neser and Mitchell Swepson have already made their BBL returns after departing international camp on the weekend.

The Scorchers were able to add to their strong campaign with a six-wicket victory over the Heat on Monday night to now sit 10 points clear of the second-placed Sydney Sixers, and are set to gain paceman Jhye Richardson for the finals series.

The Sixers have confirmed Nathan Lyon as part of their squad for their upcoming clash against Brisbane, with the Aussie off-spinner not the only star of the Test summer to likely be making his BBL comeback.

Batsman Marnus Labuschagne is also tipped to feature in that match for the Heat, despite his side unable to qualify for finals.

Hobart bowler and Ashes hero Scott Boland has been added to the Hurricanes' squad ahead of their finals tilt, with the Victorian set to face his former side in the Melbourne Stars on Wednesday.

Adelaide pair Travis Head and Alex Carey will return to the Strikers' setup amid Jason Gillespie's side hot run of form, with the South Australian club now sitting in fourth.

Sydney Test star Usman Khawaja will also join the Sydney Thunder's squad before their finals series gets underway.

Australian incumbents Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, David Warner, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green do not have BBL|11 contracts.

The Eliminator between fourth and fifth is scheduled for Friday night, with The Qualifier, which is held between first and second will follow on Saturday.

The Knockout will place the winner of The Eliminator against the third placed side on Sunday.
