A temporary grandstand and radio commentary marquee been among the casualties as wild weather lashed Galle to delay the start of Day 2 in the first Test between Australia and Sri Lanka.
Wild winds and persistent, driving rain coming in off an angry-looking ocean have created chaos in the Sri Lankan seaside city, with facilities being damaged.
It has also now been reported that one of the camera positions, as well as the big screen, have been impacted as the wait for any chance of play goes on.
It's tipped that the weather will improve and a start to proceedings, where Australia are 114 runs behind Sri Lanka on their first innings with seven wickets in hand, will be achieved at some point during Day 1.
Radio commentator Adam Collins documented the incredible scenes as a portable grandstand collapsed.
All happening. Organised chaos though in fairness - the locals have seen this one before. #SLvAUS pic.twitter.com/VJra6n3LWX

It has been reported that no one was hurt by the incident, with no one seated there at the time.

Sri Lankan grounds are covered for their entirety, unlike many other parts of the world were only the pitch and square would be covered, meaning that when the weather subsides, a start to play may not be too far away.
It's understood further delays may be caused waiting for debris to be cleaned up from the collapse of the grandstand and other facilities being damaged however.
Play was due to commence at 2:30pm (AEST). Remaining days of the match will now commence at 2pm (AEST) to make up for lost time.
