James Pattinson exploded back onto the Test scene with a career-best performance that helped ease Australia’s pain at losing Mitchell Starc for the next four months.
Australia steamrolled the West Indies by an innings and 212 runs on day three, just five runs short of an all-time Frank Worrell record.
Crumbling to lose their final 12 wickets in less than two sessions amid a humiliating follow-on, signalled the death of Caribbean cricket at least in this country.
Pattinson (5-27) went wicket-less in a disappointing first-innings, frustrated at being unable to find his rhythm as speeds dropped below 130km/h and balls sprayed from side to side.
However, the turnaround was immediate and spectacular.
