Lendl Simmons has led the West Indies to a thrilling final over win over host nation India to reach final of the WorldT20.

India batted first, scoring an imposing 2-192, before The Windies lived up to their reputation as T20 specialists, with a brilliant run chase, reaching the target with two balls to spare.

Suprinsgly, it was not Chris Gayle who did the the damage, but instead No.4 batsman Lendl Simmons, who blasted 82 from 51 balls to guide his side to victory.

Gayle was dismissed in just the second over for five, before Marlon Samuels was also also removed cheaply for eight.

Opener Johnson Charles and Simmons then combined for a 97-run stand, with the former making 52 from just 36 balls.

Simmons (82) and Andre Russell (43 from 20) then finished off the run chase with two balls to spare and seven wickets in hand.

Earlier, Virat Kohli continued his blistering form, hitting 89 from just 47 balls, while Rohit Sharma (43 from 31) and Ajinkya Rahane (40 from 35) also chimed in with handy contributions.
