Always the ultimate joker, West Indian star Chris Gayle has paid homage to his controversial time in the Big Bash by naming his baby girl 'Blush'.

Gayle was fined $10,000 and forced to apologise following his flirtatious remarks to Big Bash commentator Mel McLaughlin earlier this year.

“I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well,’ Gayle told McLaughlin on live televsion after being dismissed during a game for the Renegades.

“That’s the reason why I’m here, just to see your eyes for the first time.

“Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after...Don’t blush baby," Gayle added.

The 36-year-old made the announcement on social media on Thursday.

“We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter ‘Blush’ to this world two hours ago. Thank God,” Gayle wrote on his Instagram account.

Although, given Gayle's nature, we're not sure if he is just fooling everyone, or if he has genuinely named his daughter Blush.
