Zimbabwe are set for a huge boost ahead of the second ODI against Australia in Townsville on Wednesday, with veteran all-rounder Sean Williams too return.
While his absence in the first game allowed Wessley Madhevere - who top-scored - to be unearthed in Australian conditions, it's Williams who the tourists desperately want back.
Zimbabwe lost 6 for 15 against Australia to be rolled for 200 after originally being on the way to a competitive score, and will be looking at the experience of Williams and ability to move Madhevere to number four in the order as crucial.
The 35-year-old missed the opening game with bruising on his right elbow after being hit in the nets before the opening game in Townsville.
"He's fine, he'll be playing tomorrow," Zimbabwe coach Dave Houghton told reporters on Tuesday.
"It was just an external blow, it wasn't on the bone or anything it was the on muscle.
"He didn't feel any pain overnight but the next day he could hardly make a fist."
More batting depth seems to be on the radar for the tourists, with Luke Jongwe seemingly the most likely player to make way according to the coach.
"Having seen the way the pitch played, we went in with four seamers and one of our seamers only bowled one over," Houghton said.
"Sean is one of our spinners and we were thinking of an extra spinner for this game, so it will probably work out that way."
Australia are yet to confirm who will replace Mitchell Marsh in their XI for the second ODI, with Josh Inglis called into the squad, but opening match reserves Marnus Labuschagne, Sean Abbott and Ashton Agar already in Townsville and shaping as the realistic options.
Game 2 of the series starts at 9:40am (AEST) on Wednesday morning.
