The BCCI has provided a medical update on five key players who are currently on the sidelines with injuries.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has revealed that seam bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna are in the final stages of their rehab. The duo are set to play some practice games at full intensity, depending on their injury status, before the BCCI medical team make their final assessment.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are also close to returning and have since resumed batting in the nets at training. Iyer had undergone back surgery and missed the entirety of the IPL tournament and ICC World Test Championship Final against Australia.

The BCCI Media Team are set to increase the intensity of training for the duo in the coming days, per ICC Cricket.

The last player the BCCI issued an update on was Rishabh Pant. Pant has made significant progress after he was involved in an off-field accident in late December 2022.

Having last played in December 2022 against Bangladesh, the wicketkeeper's rehabilitation has been faster than expected, and he has been following a strict fitness program that includes strength, flexibility and running.

India will tour Ireland in August before they compete in the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, which will be held at home.
