WBBL - Thunder v Sixers

The Women's T20 World Cup team of the tournament has been announced with four Australians making the team.

After winning the ICC Women's T20 World Cup for the third time in a row against South Africa, four Australians from the winning side have emerged in the Best XI team.

The team is led by Ashleigh Gardner who was awarded the Player of the Tournament.

"We have been longing for this moment," Gardner said after being announced the best player of the tournament.

"Personal accolades are great but I am proud of this win. Words cannot describe how proud I am of the group. We talk about evolving as individuals and growing the game globally. There is so much fun in playing cricket for your country."

"This is something I am going to be proud of later in life."

Gardner put on a number of match-winning performances throughout the World Cup. The all-rounder scored 110 runs at an average of 36.66 and had 10 wickets at a 12.50 average.

Gardner is joined in the team by wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy, and fast bowlers Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt.

Brown and Schutt had 17 wickets between them while Alyssa Healy scored 189 runs at an average of 47.25 runs per game.
