One match into the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia and news of a venue change has been confirmed for the third Test.

The oval in Dharamsala is not ready to host the match, with the BCCI confirming the venue change is due to "harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully".

Instead, the third Test will be held at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

The news may be welcomed by Australia who suffered an eight-wicket defeat last time they played at Dharamsala in the fourth Test of the 2016-17 series against India.

India currently lead 1-0 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, after beating Australia by an innings and 132 runs within three days in Nagpur.

The second Test will be played in Delhi starting February 17, and the third test is scheduled to start March 1.
