England's frustrating start to the Ashes has continued on Day 2 of the first Test, with Ben Stokes claiming the wicket of Australian opener David Warner before having the decision overturned.

A stunning delivery saw Stokes claim the top of Warner's off-stump after a deflection off his pad, before the third official placed attention to the Englishman's front foot.

A replay of Stokes' delivery saw the back of the all-rounder's left shoe land past the crease and subsequently deemed an illegal delivery.

Warner was recalled to the crease after initially being dismissed, with the Australian opener on 17 runs from 36 deliveries following the recall.

Warner and Marnus Labuschagne are at the crease for Australia at the time of writing, with the hosting nation 1-36 from 14.3 overs.
